The Hut - French River - Brian, Ben
& Tony
2003 - December 10
This was the first cold weather testing of
my new Steger Mukluks. They performed well. Full enough
moon to walk the trail in and out without the headlamp.
Windy as all get out, straight temp of 0° F. Wind chill
was abysmal...The main topic was -- golf! Dack is such a
wild fanatic of the sport, man! I'm glad he found the
game, and the game found him. I left at midnight right
before Durf's homemade venison sausages went on the grill.
Ben and Brian stayed for the night. |

I
had on a synthetic Duofold base layer, a light
wool zip-neck sweater, a heavy wool commando
sweater, a PolarFleece vest, a 700-gram goose
down jacket and my anorak jacket, with my
TechnoWool bibs and mukluks with Ullfrötte
800-gram wool socks. Topped off with a
PolarFleece balaclava on the noggin'. Can you
say toasty? You betcha! |
