Brighton Beach & 42nd Beach - Duluth
These are my first experimental images using my new B+W Neutral Density 10-stop filter (made in Germany). This filter is about as dark as you can get and still use it for photography. Very much the same density as a welding glass filter. These images were all taken on time exposures of between 45 and 60 seconds, which washes out all of the wave action. It was 25+ MPH wind down on Lake Superior today, so there were huge 6-foot-plus curlers rolling in. The images below just make it look like it was mellow. My tripod and camera actually almost tipped over in the wind, several times, it was blowing and gusting so hard.

I started the exposure, walked out into the exposure and held for 30 seconds, which is why I am ghosted here. |

I started the exposure, walked out into the exposure and sat there again for 30 seconds, which is why I am ghosted again here. |
