WESTERN HEMISPHERE
This image is a true-color composite of images and information gathered during months of observation. To eliminate cloud cover and sun glare, the Earth's surface was surveyed at regular intervals. |
EASTERN HEMISPHERE
The lights from cities around the world were aggregated over nine months and are visible in the darkened areas of the photos. |
